Winner, Outstanding Property Award London
After running a West Indies hotel for 30+ years, the owner’s moved back to Swedish seaside town Varberg. Here, they opened Blanka, a restaurant reflecting their Caribbean love. Bold in colors and patterns, the interiors merge tropical vibes and Scandinavian coolness. Lushness and floral patterns meet striking pink accents, natural and burnt wood. Blanka was named after Blanche de Namur, the French-born 14th-century queen of Sweden and Norway who resided at the fortress near the restaurant's location. Her renowned goodness and beauty make her a fitting symbol for this welcoming place.
