Villa Godthem on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm is the fourth restaurant we design for the F12 Group and chefs Melker and Danyel. Over a hundred years ago, the legendary opera singer Carl Johan Uddman lived and died here (having received the house as a gift from a fan) and the design is a homage to him and his time.
”Villa Godthem has been one of Stockholm's favorite destinations for decades. But from the beginning, this was a private home for the legendary opera singer Carl Johan Uddman.”
Carl Johan Uddman made his debut as a 25-year-old at the Royal Opera in Stockholm in 1846. With his powerful bass voice and cheerful attitude, he took audiences and critics by storm. Villa Godthem was built in 1874 and donated to Uddman by some devoted admirers.
